We at Spots and Stripes recognize and appreciate the many truely non-profit groups that work for the benefit of feral cats, wild cats, and homeless cats and kittens. These groups work out of their homes, make-shift offices, even out of their cars. Some do not have 501(c)(3) status, which may mean donations could or might not be deductible. They may be a single person or a group of hundreds, out rescuing and helping cats on a daily basis. Becoming a non-profit corporation, and then filing for tax-exempt status is a long, tedious, and expensive process. One which we ourselves went through for the benefit of our donors that we would have complete transparancy. Today, there are very few links here. By the end of the year, We sincerely hope the page is over-flowing, and we can start breaking them down, state by state, country by country.
There is only one criteria for listing here. NO ONE must profit a dime from their works with cats. If you sell a book on your website that profits you instead of the proceeds going to your charity, you WILL NOT BE LISTED. If you have ads on your site, that is fine as long as the revenue goes to the charity. If you SELL cats to make a profit for yourself, YOU WILL NOT BE LISTED. If you ask for a donation at adoption to cover the costs of "speutering" and vet bills, that is fine. We will be checking up on you, and if we find you are profiting personally from your charity, WE WILL HAVE A BLACKLIST FOR YOU!
Submit your site to: spotsandstripes@comcast.net and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Let's fill up a few pages here!
